BMI Alumni Tennis Tournament: towards lighter balls

Last Sunday SEB arena in Vilnius has sounded from BMI alumni tennis fans swinging tennis and badminton rackets. Although the annual traditional tournament has attracted slightly less participants than in previous years, competition was complemented with badminton lessons and friendly competition.

As usual, tennis players have registered in two groups of advanced and beginner levels. The winner of the first group taking away the price and an opportunity for a practice or friendly match with the Lithuanian tennis star Lina Stančiūtė, was Vaidotas Lenktys (class XII). Second in the group was Antanas Bubnelis (class X), Edvardas Skupas (class XI) remained in the third.

Laurels in beginners’ group were captured by Marijus Kalesinskas (class X) that has defeated Andrius Samaitis (class I) in the final. The third in this group was the initiator of the tournament Vaiva Tylienė (class VI), overcoming VilijaNausėdaitė (class IX) in the decisive duel.

After winners in tennis courts were identified and all titleholders received tennis balls with signature of Lina Stančiūtė, Chairman of BMI Alumni Council Tadas Karkalas invited everyone to badminton court where this fast sport requiring quick reaction was test-drived with support of the professional coach.

Now as we know the strongest BMI alumni tennis players, tournament organizers would like to thank all the participants and sponsors of the event – Litamilk and KaunoAlus - and invites you to register for the next year.
