Change management at political party: how to manage unmanageable

More than two dozens of BMI alumni gathered at Lithuanian parliament on the 7th of March for fourth and the final event dedicated to Change management. This last time it was all about politics, political communication and change management at the political organisation.

Event was dedicated to get to know more about challenges faced by changing one of the most influential Lithuanian political organisations – Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats party (Tėvynės sąjunga – Lietuvos krikščionys demokratai).

Main speaker of the event - Chairman of the Party Gabrielius Landsbergis – presented short history about the changes the party experienced after he was elected the leader at this organization. He very openly shared his experiences while leading and changing the organisation of more than 16 thousand members, currently holding 31 seats at the Parliament and 253 seats at Municipal Councils.

“Political party is so much different from business organizations most of you are so much familiar with. And sometimes it seems that principles of business management simple do not work here. But changes are important and we are happy to see the happening”, - he concluded.
