Bank of Lithuania Chairman Vitas Vasiliauskas was guest of honour at the 2014 BMI Alumni Gala, a gathering of BMI International Executive MBA graduates, corporate sponsors and friends that is organized each year by the BMI Alumni Association.

A record number of executives from BMI’s 15 EMBA classes to-date joined the traditional event on March 27 at Apvalaus Stalo Klubas with its magical night-time view of the medieval Trakai Castle.

The evening of music, fine dining and networking reached its high point with the presentation of three BMI Alumni Awards to recognise outstanding business achievements by BMI EMBA graduates.

THE AWARD: CAREER OF THE YEAR

▫ Vaidotas Krencius (EMBA X), a 2010 graduate of BMI who recently became the CEO of BIOK Laboratorija, the Lithuanian maker of beauty products that is expanding internationally. The award wassponsored byCitadele Bankas.

THE AWARD: ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR

▫ Vidas Petraitis (EMBA X)

▫ Remigijus Štaras (EMBA VI), the Chairman of App Camp, a rapidly growing developer of mobile applications. The award was sponsored by Industek.

In his address to the gathering of business leaders, Lithuania’s central bank chairman offered insights and advice related to the country’s planned adoption of the euro next January. The evening concluded with some lively music provided by recent BMI graduate Jurgis Didžiulis.
