BMI Alumni Association held a traditional discussion event "Green Energy in Your Backyard“ with a purpose to share the information, experiences and opportunities of small?? renewable energy power plant projects and the subtleties of their realization.
Is there enough sunlight to produce solar energy in Lithuania? Is there a „business case“ to invest in solar or wind energy for individuals or small companies? Are legal environment and technical solutions in place? What are the threaths and opportunities? Isn‘t the risk of such investment too high?
These and other related questions were activelly discussed during and after the presentations of the speakers:
· Vitas Mačiulis from Arginta, who gave a thorough presentation on solar projects in Lithuania, their benefits, threats and opportunities;
· Artūras Jucaitis and Eduardas Bondarenko (Swedbank) who were talking on the financing aspects of such projects;
· Margarita Abraitė, BMI Alumni and managing partner at Renewables Management LLP, who introduced 500 kW Wind Turbine projects in UK, and opportunities for investment;
Sparked discussion and abundance of questions showed that this topic definitely deserved to be called a "hot" and has not lost any of its relevance.
