Business is people. In a more connected and fast changing world, ‘Business’ versus ‘Consumer’ is an artificial divide: people exist in both worlds and expectations and standards in one area move to the other. Trust is at the heart of the relationship between both sides. Especially now.
BMI Alumni Association together with “Personalo Valdymo Profesionalų Asociacija“ (PVPA) has presented a lively discussion Event „HR in Business context“ which took place on 9 July at Conference center of Comfort hotel. Guest speaker was Bertil Abrahamsson, temporary Acting HR Department Director at the company TEO Lt - an expert of rich international experience of HR Manager. Since 1999 by 2004 Bertil Abrahamsson was HR Department Director at AB “Lietuvos telekomas”. Currently, he is Vice President of TeliaSonera AB(Sweden) HRl Division.
Today business is changing faster then the annual performance appraisal process - how can we adapt to this pace of change? Does HR "speak" business language? Is HR always up to date with the business challenges? Do current HR practices & tools create value for business? How does HR need to reshape themselves for future, for example, do we need traditional performance appraisals, talent management, recruitment , or we need to re-invent those good processes to be really in line with business. What is important to knowworking together with scandinavian companies, how we can improve cooperation, what is HR Manager role in this process?
Sharing various experiences and discussing questions has shown that Personnel issues are more and more important and relevant for the development of business in Lithuania.
