Asta Meškerevičiūtė appointed President of BMI Alumni Association

Asta Meškerevičiūtė, the CEO of, software development company Inventi, has been elected President of the alumni association of the international business school Baltic Management Institute (BMI). She will head the association’s new Council, elected in February for a two-year term, in its work to build ties between the business leaders who have studied at BMI and promote the sharing of knowledge and experience.

The BMI Alumni Association, uniting some 700 graduates of BMI programmes for executives, will aim to improve Lithuania’s business climate by strengthening the country’s network of business angels.

“The renewed BMI Alumni Council will continue organising events that broaden alumni’s horizons and strengthen their connections, along with annual alumni awards, sport and leisure events, and other community-building initiatives. We’ll also seek to work closely with the BMI administration to further enhance the school’s reputation and attract new executive participants,” Asta Meškerevičiūtė said.

She said the new Council would moreover encourage alumni to invest in early-stage business projects, not only providing financial resources, but also sharing their experience and know-how. “Our goal is for as many BMI alumni as possible to become business angels and contribute to improving the country’s business climate,” the new president said.

Tadas Karkalas, Head of Baltic Business Strategy & Change at Danske Bank, was confirmed to continue in his role as Chairman of the Council of the BMI Alumni Association in its new composition.

Other members of the Council re-elected in February for a two-year term include outgoing president Vaiva Tylienė, who is CEO at Tylaris, Renata Beržanskienė, a partner at the law firm Sorainen, and Antanas Bubnelis, Head of Communications at Bitė Lietuva. Members newly elected include Jurgita Lemešiūtė, who is Managing Partner at the employee search and selection firm People Link, business consultant Linas Šimelionis, Martynas Kandziarauskas, the CEO of Blue Flight, Dainius Vaičikonis, the CEO of Luminor Lizingas, and Tomas Valiukevičius, Managing Partner at OVO Finance.

BMI provides world-class management education on the basis of academic partnerships with the leading European business schools – including founders HEC Paris, NHH Norwegian School of Economics, Louvain School of Management and Vytautas Magnus University – as well as top schools in the U.S. and China that deliver specific modules, and executive mobility partners in many countries.
